The world is gearing up for the release of The Marvels this November, and now, we finally have the official run time: 105 minutes. If you’re thinking that this sounds like an awfully short movie, then you’d be 3000% right.

Clocking in at 1 hour and 45 minutes, The Marvels is officially the shortest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Why is that? I’m not entirely sure, but it makes me a bit sad. We’ve got a badass team-up between Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and we’ll only see them together for less than two hours?! Why, Marvel, why?

The Marvels is less than two hours long

The runtime for The Marvels was revealed in a listing on AMC Theaters. It’s even shorter than previous record holders The Incredible Hulk and Thor: The Dark World, which were 112 minutes long each, or about 1 hour and 52 minutes.

It’s a bit wild to think how short The Marvels is, especially when you compare it to some of the other franchise tentpoles. 2012’s The Avengers was 2 hours and 25 minutes, Age of Ultron was 2 hours and 29 minutes, and of course, Avengers: Endgame clocked in at a whopping 3 hours and 1 minute.

Naturally, these films had a lot to fit in storywise, hence the longer runtimes. But then again, Spider-Man: No Way Home also featured a superhero team-up, and that movie ran for 2 hours and 28 minutes.

So what gives for The Marvels?

I’d like to think that it won’t affect the quality of the actual film. I believe it will be epic. Brie Larson, Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris are amazing and I truly cannot wait to see what this team-up looks like.
