As the biggest movie franchise in the world, the Marvel Cinematic Universe attracts attention from all corners of pop culture. From veteran actors to young up-and-coming stars and even the world’s biggest pop acts. Look no farther than Harry Styles, who briefly showed up as Starfox in Eternals. Now, fans are anticipating an appearance from Taylor Swift.

Given Taylor Swift’s musical prowess, there seems to be no better role for her to fill than Alison Blaire, aka Dazzler, a mutant musician who’s powers include the ability to convert sound waves into intense light to blind her enemies, or much worse.

With the MCU slowly but surely adding mutants into the main continuity — a trend continuing with Wolverine appearing in Deadpool 3, directed by Shawn Levy — it seems like only a matter of time before Dazzler makes her debut on the big screen. The rumors have been roiling for a while now, and only escalated when Swift was pictured alongside Deadpool and Wolverine actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman at an NFL game earlier this month.

“They sure are loud,” Levy told TheWrap of the wild Taylor Swift fandom, neither confirming nor denying that she will have a cameo in the movie. “I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”

Clearly, Levy knows better than to reveal too much. When you’ve got the enormously passionate Taylor Swift fandom pushing for this rumor to become a reality, it’s always going to be hard to shake it off, right?

What’s the current status of Deadpool 3?

As a result of the WGA writers strike and SAG-AFTRA actors strikes occurring this year, most release dates have gone out the window. Although the writers strike is over, the actors strike goes on, and productions have been very stop-start. Things are no different for Deadpool 3. The movie was originally slated to premiere on May 3, 2024, but that seems increasingly unlikely.

“I wish I knew. I don’t even know if we officially have . I know we were gonna be May 3,” Levy said.  “Certainly, the actors’ strike and the long pause in production have put that release date in true risk. We’ve shot half the movie. I’ve edited half the movie. We’re dying to get back to work and get this movie out next year.”

According to a report from Deadline, Deadpool 3 is officially moving away from its May 2024 release date. As for how far it has been pushed back, we don’t know. Although it’s still safe to say the movie will premiere sometime next year!
