4. Game of Thrones season 6

  • Audience Score: 93%
  • Critics Score: 94%

Game of Thrones season 6 is the season where things feel like they begin to move quickly toward the end of the series. The end is in sight, and it’s about starting to get these characters in the right positions for the War against the Night King. It’s also just a really good season of Game of Thrones and the best since season 4. It’s also the highest-rated season after season 4, according to Rotten Tomatoes.

In season 6, we see Jon Snow brought back from the dead and an epic battle in “Battle of the Bastards,” which results in Jon’s side winning and Ramsay Bolton getting eaten alive by his dogs. Sansa escapes Ramsay early in the season and reunites with Jon. Arya passes all of her tests to become an assassin and heads home with revenge in her heart. We also get to see Bran complete part of his journey to become the Three-Eyed Raven and uncover the secrets of the past. In Meereen, Dany decides it is time to head home to become the Queen she was meant to be.

Oh, and down in King’s Landing, Cersei makes her biggest play yet: burning down the Great Sept of Baelor with wildfire, killing the Tyrells, the Faith Militant, and other enemies.

Overall, season 6 is an excellent season of the series. It’s such a bummer the show was never this good again.
