For All Mankind synopsis

For All Mankind presents us with an alternate version of history where the space race between the United States and the Soviet Union never stopped. The first season was set in the ’60s and ’70s, when the actual space race was still going on. Season 2 jumped ahead to the ’80s, season 3 to the ’90s, and season 4 will be set in the 2000s.

With each passing season, we see how the continued space race has changed the course of history. For instance, technology has advanced far faster than it has in our time, although many social issues progressed at around the same rate. Meanwhile, our cast of characters has gotten older and older while the next generation has stepped up to take their place.

With each season, humanity has made more strides into space. In season 1, the U.S. and the Soviet Union raced to establish presences on the moon. In season 2, they had fully functional lunar bases up there. In season 3, both countries raced with a private corporation to get to Mars. In season 4, permanent colonies have been set up on the Red Planet.

It’s hard to know how long the show will last, but it seems to have plenty of gas left in the tank. We can’t wait to watch season 4 when it starting streaming on Apple TV+ on November 10.

Next. House of the Dragon season 2 will premiere in “early summer”. dark
