Watch Peter Dinklage in extremely intense tourism ad for Andalusia

Since the end of Game of Thrones, Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) has appeared in a variety of projects, both big-budget fare like Thor: Love and Thunder and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts as well as smaller projects like Cyrano. After winning multiple Emmy awards for his work on Game of Thrones, he pretty much has his pick of roles.

And in this case, that role includes being a pitchman for Andalusia, a region in southern Spain. Dinklage recently appeared in an extremely intense tourism ad, where he tries to tempt us to visit Andalusia basically by telling us that we can’t handle how awesome it is. Watch below:

“This is not an ad. It’s a warning” Dinklage begins, alarmingly. “I know a place, a place that will break you into a thousand pieces, that will enter through those cracks, and will stay and live in you,” he continues, describing what sounds at first blush like some kind of plague-ridden nightmare-scape. “Run. Run!”

"No, better stay in Manhattan. Get an apartment in Berlin. Stay away from them. Stay from Lorca, Paco and Picasso. Don’t ask about Lola. Don’t listen to the poets who have been here. Ay, caballo grande! Ay, dolor de nieve! Ay. Ay! But, in spite of everything, it occurs to you to visit Andalusia. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Careful of the Andalusian Crush."

I love an ad that tries to get me interested by telling me not to be interested. “Stay away.” Oh, you’d like that, wouldn’t you, Peter Dinklage? I’m buying a ticket to Andalusia today, then you’ll be sorry.

I’m not 100% sure what the “Andalusian Crush” is supposed to be, either. According to Sur in English, it “refers to the inner impact a culture so rich leaves behind in its visitors.” No one is ever the same after visiting Andalusia.

In all seriousness, a visit to Andalusia sounds lovely. As long as I survive.
