Netflix released a deluge of trailers over the past few days, including one for Dead Boy Detectives, based on the comic book by Neil Gaiman. Watch it below!
Dead Boy Detectives is what it sounds like: there are a couple of boys who are dead, and they’re detectives. These characters were actually both introduced in The Sandman, another comic series from Neil Gaiman. The Sandman also has a live-action Netflix adaptation; the second season is on the way. The official description for Dead Boy Detectives even calls it a “new supernatural series set in The Sandman universe,” although it’s unclear if there will be an actual crossover.
The Sandman show has yet to adapt the comic where the Dead Boy Detectives first appear. Maybe in season 2? All of this is likely to come out sometime in 2024, Dead Boy Detectives first and then The Sandman season 2.
Watch the trailer for Netflix’s live-action Yu Yu Hakusho series
Like I said, Netflix dropped a lot of stuff this past weekend, including a trailer for a live-action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho, which just happens to be about a teenager who dies and then gets brought back to be a detective. What are the odds?
Yu Yu Hakasho is also yet another attempt by Netflix to take a popular anime series and turn it into a live-action show. One Piece is already a hit and Avatar: The Last Airbender is on the way. These show have gotten better and better, so hopefully we can expect good things from Yu Yu Haksasho, which premieres on December 14.
Watch bloopers from Netflix’s One Piece show
I mentioned One Piece just now. Netflix released a blooper reel from the first season. Watch below!
Unfortunately, this reel doesn’t give us any information about when One Piece season 2 might be coming. Fun stuff, though.
Watch a new trailer for Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon
Shifting into something a bit harder, there’s a lot of buzz around Rebel Moon, a new Star Wars-esque rebels-vs-an-evil-empire-in-space movie from Zack Snyder, the man behind 300 and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Can these grimdark upstarts resist powerful tyrants? Maybe. Will they try it in slow motion? Definitely.
Rebel Moon is being split into two parts. Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire drops on Netflix on December 22.
A Terminator anime series is coming to Netflix
Netflix isn’t only taking anime series and making them live-action. It’s also taking live-action series and turning them into anime. For instance, check out this teaser for a Terminator anime:
There’s no footage to speak of yet, but we’re told this series is “coming soon.”
And Netflix dropped even more stuff we didn’t have time to get to here:
