It looks like Disney can’t let Frozen go, according to today’s very exciting news. Ahead of the not-yet-released third installment, Disney CEO Bob Iger has teased that Frozen 4 is in the works!

I can’t say that I am surprised in the slightest given how successful this franchise has been for Disney. But it is interesting that it has been greenlit way ahead of the third movie, which doesn’t have an official release date. Iger just announced its existence earlier this year, so we’ve got a minute to wait before we see it, to say nothing of its sequel.

Frozen 4 is officially a go!

Iger revealed this news on Good Morning America while he was at Hong Kong Disneyland. “Frozen 3 is in the works,” Iger said. “And there might be a Frozen 4 in the works, too. But, I don’t have much to say about those films right now. But Jenn Lee who created Frozen, the original Frozen and Frozen 2, is hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but actually two stories.”

That is quite exciting, if I do say so myself!

This reveal comes on the heels of World of Frozen opening up in Hong Kong, which is a part of the theme park wholly dedicated to the movies. According to Iger, you can meet the characters, go on fun rides, and check out some great restaurants. Essentially, you’ll be immersed in the world of Arendelle! Side note: The Frozen ride in Orlando’s EPCOT is pretty epic, so I can only begin to imagine what this land feels and looks like.

Given that this year marks the tenth anniversary of the original Frozen movie (say what?!), Disney is going all out to ensure it is being celebrated. There is an audio series called Frozen: Forces of Nature, which takes place after the second movie but before the third. We will even meet some new characters in the audio series who may might pop up in the movies down the line.
