For All Mankind continues to blow our minds away with its vision of an alternate timeline where the United States and the Soviet Union never stopping running the space race. Over the last three seasons (season 4 is currently airing), this Apple TV+ series has managed to exceed expectations, giving us a perspective on a story that never actually happened, at least not like this. It transports you in a way that leaves you wondering: what if?

Given how beloved this series has become since premiering in 2019, it’s exciting to learn that there just might be a fifth season to look forward to. While speaking with ColliderFor All Mankind creator Ronald Moore (the guy behind Outlander) hinted there may be more content on the way in the near future. Hear more on what he had to say below!

For All Mankind creator hopeful they’ll get to make season 5

If you have not watched this series, I highly recommend it. It is a trip to see how the world would be different if certain things did or did not happen. It’s reminiscent of Amazon’s Man in the High Castle in that way, another show I suggest checking out if you haven’t.

Anyway, apart from the stellar (get it?) storyline, the cast of the series is just as amazing; it includes Joel Kinnaman and Jodi Balfour, among others. They have made the show what it is, which is what makes me the most excited about potentially getting another season.

“There’s definitely been more conversation about it, yeah. You can sense things are starting to pick up, and just industry-wide everyone’s starting to gear up towards, ‘Okay, we know it’s about to all happen again, so let’s start talking in earnest about how we prepare the way for it,’” Moore said.

For All Mankind co-creators Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi have both previously said that they meant for the show to go until season 6 or 7. If this is still the plan, the future of the show looks bright.

Interestingly enough, all the original shows that premiered when Apple TV+ began did not make it past season 4 including M. Night Shyamalan’s trippy series Servant. If For All Mankind does get a season 5, it will officially become the longest streaming series on the platform.

For All Mankind has been a hit for Apple TV+, so I think it’s less of a question of if they’ll renew it but when. But I won’t get my hopes up just yet; things have been rocky and unpredictable due to the writers and actors strikes, so we never know. But I’m crossing my fingers for some good news!
