After many long months of shooting, the second season of House of the Dragon is finally in the can. And we know that for sure because images from this weekend’s wrap party have started to emerge. HBO looks like it went all out, even hiring musicians to play the theme song under a giant hanging symbol representing the Faith of the Seven:

As Redanian Intelligence pointed out, negroni sbagliatos with prosecco were not on the drink menu for the party, despite star Emma D’Arcy going viral last year after she described that as her favorite drink. This is not stunnin’.

The Targaryen banners hung around the hall are pretty cool. They have golden dragons on them, so we assume that this party was thrown in honor of King Aegon II Targaryen. No one mention Rhaenyra, he’ll get mad.

Steve Toussaint, who plays Corlys Velaryon, posted a couple of pictures on his Instagram, including this photo of a spectacular-looking dragon ice sculpture!

Toussaint also provided this image of a clapboard listing some information about the new season, including how many hours each production unit worked and who’s directing each episode:

A wrap party means wrap gifts! Harry Collett, who plays Rhaenyra Targaryen’s son Jaecerys Velaryon, posted a picture of some of his take-home goodies:

I can’t be certain that everybody got a sword.

Overall, it looks like the wrap party was a great time. Abubakar Salim, who will be playing Alyn of Hull in the new season, is doing a great job of getting the hype train rolling online:

“What’s important is how fecking CRAZY Season 2 will be.” We can only hope. House of the Dragon season 2 will premiere on HBO and Max early in the summer of 2024.
