Ranker is a site where people vote on all number of topics — the greatest minds of all time, the best pet names, the best shoe brands for babies, etc — resulting in a never-ending series of lists. Recently, @westerosies tweeted out the results of a vote for the most hated TV characters of all time. Several characters from Game of Thrones made the cut.

Yep, out of the top 10 most hated characters on TV, three are from Game of Thrones. Here’s the top 10 as of today (the lists are updated frequently, so it’s a little different than in the tweet):

  1. Joffrey Baratheon (Game of Thrones)
  2. Ramsay Bolton (Game of Thrones)
  3. Shou Tucker (Fullmetal Alchemist)
  4. The Governor (The Walking Dead)
  5. Rachel Berry (Glee)
  6. Livia Soprano (The Sopranos)
  7. Will Schuester (Glee)
  8. Cersei Lannister (Game of Thrones)
  9. Todd Alquist (Breaking Bad)
  10. Caillou (Caillou)

Game of Thrones is the only show to have more than two characters on the list! Also, Littlefinger and Roose Bolton clock in at numbers 14 and 15, respectively. They make ’em vile in Westeros.

Of course, this is an unscientific process. How the lists on Ranker shake out depends heavily on what kinds of people vote on Ranker. There are Game of Thrones fans, clearly, but also a lot of people invested in Glee. And the fact that Shou Tucker, a relatively minor character from the anime Fullmetal Alchemist, is ranked third should tell you that we’re dealing with a specific sample set here. I doubt most of the general population would know who Shou Tucker was. (Prove me wrong, Shou Tucker stans!)

However this list shifts in the future, I think we can all agree that Joffrey deserves a place at or near the top. His villainy will be hard to forget.
