CCXP, a huge pop culture convention in Brazil, kicks off today, and House of the Dragon is a part of it! Cast members Ewan Mitchell (Aemond Targaryen) and Steve Toussaint (Corlys Velaryon) will be in attendance, and rumors are swirling that attendees may get to see the first footage from the upcoming second season!

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. For now, take a look at the display HBO has rigged up for the event:

"HOTD display at CCXP23, on this weekend! 😀😀 byu/Porcelain-treasure inHouseOfTheDragon"

Fans can walk into the doors of the Red Keep! There’s also a cool wall of fire thing happening:

Will we see footage from House of the Dragon season 2 this weekend?

This is all very neat for the fans who can attend. The rest of us will have to subsist on announcements, but if one of those announcements is that a new teaser trailer has dropped, I think we’ll be okay.

Multiple, reliable sources are saying that we should expect to see footage from House of the Dragon season 2 at CCXP this weekend, perhaps the footage that HBO previously showed off to members of the press several weeks back. If that does happen, it will go down on Saturday, when Max will hold a panel at 11:00 a.m. CST and Mitchell and Toussaint will take the stage 45 minutes later. Wake the Dragon has a handy time zone guide, so you’ll know when to look out for the new footage no matter where in the world you live:

Furthermore, actor Jamie Kenna — who is thought to have joined the House of the Dragon cast in an as-yet unknown role — has said that we’ll be getting some news this Saturday, according to multiple sources. He kept things vague, but it seems to line up with when we know the House of the Dragon panels will be going down at CCXP.

Finally, Abubakar Salim, who will play Alyn of Hull, dropped this nugget:

So will we get new footage from House of the Dragon season 2? Will new characters be revealed? Will we get a release date? We don’t know, but it sounds like something is going to go down at CCXP on Saturday. The convention runs through Sunday. We’ll be watching.
