The other day, we learned that Sebasian Stan — Bucky Barnes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe — will play former president Donald Trump in a new movie called The Apprentice. Only the movie will be set in the 1970s and 80s, long before Trump makes a run for the White House.

After we got over the sheer weirdness of this news, we started to wonder: what in the world would that look like? For better or worse, we can turn to our friends the robots for answers. I asked the AI art program imagine.art to generate an image of Sebastian Stan as Donald Trump in the ’80s. Trump and Stan are both widely photographed people, so the AI should have a lot to work with. This is what it came up with.

For the record, this was the full prompt I used:

"Show me what Sebastian Stan would look like playing Donald Trump in a movie. The movie is set in the 1980s and Sebastian Stan must have Trump’s distinctive blonde hair."

I crafted this prompt after a few unsuccessful attempts where the program would not give Stan blonde hair. It’s Donald Trump; you have to have blonde hair.

Anyway, we can all contemplate this image as we wait for The Apprentice to come out in whatever theaters will touch it, unless it goes straight to streaming. There’s not much info about the release yet.
