It’s the end of the year, and studios are rolling out their sizzle reels for what they have on deck in 2024. That includes HBO/Max/whatever, which will be bringing us new seasons of shows like True Detective, House of the Dragon, Curb Your Enthusiasm and more. Watch below:
Tucked in there is a quick look at the third season of Industry, a show about a group of young graduates trying to secure positions at a prominent investment bank in London. The third season will bring on Game of Thrones veteran Kit Harington as the unfortunately named Henry Muck, the CEO of a green tech energy company. Like all such business titans, in the trailer he appears topless in a pool and tells a character he’s trying to seduce her. Jon Snow, you do go on.
Industry has been airing for two seasons already and I I’ve barely heard anything about it, which is kind of surprising for an HBO show. Maybe Harington can bring in some new people. The third season is due out sometime in the summer of 2024.
Game of Thrones alums Alfie Allen (Theon) and Jack Gleeson (Joffrey) join new thriller
Harington isn’t the only Game of Thrones veteran getting work. CBR reports that Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) and Jack Gleeson (Joffrey Baratheon) are teaming up on a new thriller series called Safe Harbour.
The plot: Allen plays a hacker named Tobias who gets mixed up with a pair of siblings in the Irish mob: Farrel (Gleeson) and his sister Sloane (Charlie Murphy). Tobias must work with the siblings to secure shipments of drugs by bypassing the Rotterdam harbor’s security system.
Gleeson took a bit of a break from acting after Joffrey became one of the most hated characters in the history of television. It’s good to see him back, and playing what sounds like another villainous role, no less. There’s no release date for Safe Harbour as of yet.
Rose Leslie to star in Jane Austen drama Miss Austen
Finally, Deadline reports that Kit Harington’s wife Rose Leslie, who played Ygritte on Game of Thrones, will feature in Miss Austen, a four-part drama series about famous author Jane Austen’s sisters. Rose Leslie will play a character named Isabella while Keeley Hawes will be Cassandra Austen, who apparently (I’m just learning this now) burned her sister Jane’s letters. That sounds like it could make for some juicy drama, no?
There’s no release date for this one, either. It’s being produced by Masterpiece and BBC so you know it’ll be classy.
