On January 7, 2024, the biggest names in movies and TV will be coming together for the 81st annual Golden Globes. Of course, before the annual celebration of Hollywood’s biggest names, we need our nominees which finally are coming through today!

While I’m not normally a morning person, the Golden Globe nominations command attention. There is nothing more exciting than getting to see which movies, shows, and actors make the cut and secure a nomination at the year’s annual celebration.

This morning Cedric “The Entertainer” and Wilmer Valderrama will announce the 2024 Golden Globe nominees live beginning at 8 a.m. ET on CBSNews.com/GoldenGlobes revealing the names of the nominees set to compete for the top honors at the Golden Globes in January.

Complete list of 2024 Golden Globe nominations

Heading into the nominations, there were several clear frontrunners including Oppenheimer, Barbie, Succession, and The Last of Us.  Oddsmakers are certain the four will be among the top nominees for the year and I have a feeling all four will have a strong presence at the 81st Annual Golden Globes in January!

Nominations began coming through at 8 a.m. ET today and there were a lot of surprises along the way including a few unexpected entries amid the favorites we expected to see picking up several nominations across the way.

Selena Gomez picked up her first acting nomination for Only Murders in the Building, The Diplomat snagged a spot in the Best TV Drama race, Wonka earned Timothée Chalamet a nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, and Marvel’s Elizabeth Olsen snagged a nom for her Max series Love & Death!

Of course, Succession, Barbie, and Oppenheimer were the standouts of the year walking away with the most nominations which wasn’t exactly too surprising. We definitely weren’t expecting so much love for Barbie‘s original songs which make up half of the year’s Best Original Song Nominees and are among the many awards Barbie will be looking to take home in January!
