Jacaerys Velaryon and Cregan Stark actors hang out ahead of House of the Dragon season 2
By Dan Selcke
At the end of House of the Dragon season 1, Rhaenyra Targaryen sent her son Jacaerys Velaryon (Jace to his friends) north to Winterfell, to treat with Lord Cregan Stark. The two of them were close in age, so Jace would be successful in getting to know the young lord of Winterfell and bringing him over to Rhaenyra’s side in her war against her half-brother Aegon for the Iron Throne.
In George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, that’s exactly what happens. Jace and Cregan bond, and Cregan enters the war on the side of Rhaenyra and her blacks. We know that Tom Taylor will play Cregan Stark on House of the Dragon season 2, so we expect plenty of scenes between him and Harry Collett, who plays Jace.
It looks like the actors have been bonding behind the scenes too. Images of the two of them hanging out have been floating around online, including on Taylor’s Instagram page.
"It looks like Harry (Jace) and Tom (Cregan) have became very good friends byu/tracyamell inHouseOfTheDragon"
“We went on holiday and u had no idea,” reads one caption from Taylor. Just two dudes hanging by the pool. No shirt, no shoes, no problem.
Taylor is one of many new actors joining House of the Dragon in season 2. Other additions include Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Abubakar Salim as his brother Alyn, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Kieran Bew as Hugh Hammer, and more. The second season of Game of Thrones introduced lots of important new characters — Davos Seaworth, Melisandre, Brienne of Tarth, etc — the season 2 of House of the Dragon may do the same.
New episodes start airing on HBO and Max sometime in the summer of 2024.
