Game of Thrones turned a number of actors into household names. We see the likes of Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, and Peter Dinklage everywhere. But other Game of Thrones cast members all but disappeared after their parts ended, and we need to see them more.

Some of the cast members chose to step back from acting. Others have just taken less visible roles, or maybe haven't any that are right for them. Here are five Game of Thrones cast members we would love to see back on our screens.

Kerry Ingram

Kerry Ingram stole our hearts as Shireen Baratheon. We still can’t get over the way her own father did her dirty with the human sacrifice storyline. Seeing how Ser Davos mourned her and then had to mourn her all over again when he learned the truth about how she died was heartbreaking.

Since her last episode, Ingram hasn’t been seen on TV or film much, and she’s barely recognizable as Shireen now. She has appeared in a few episodes of the British soap opera Doctors, and she has been in some episodes of Barbarians Rising and Free Rein, but we need to see more of her in something bigger.

Jack Gleeson

You know the Irish actor best as the insufferable Joffrey Baratheon — well, more like Joffrey Lannister. The prince-turned-king had us all anticipating the day he would die. Jack Gleeson’s performance drew us all in and had us hating the character at every turn.

Sadly, it also led to some hateful messages being sent to the actor himself. I really wish people would learn to separate character from actor. That may have contributed to Gleeson stepping back from highly visible acting work for awhile.

The good news is Gleeson will be back on our screens soon. You can catch him in a couple of episodes of Sex Education on Netflix right now, but his biggest role since leaving Game of Thrones is going to be House of Guinness, where he’ll play Byron Hodges in a story about the Guinness family. He will also play Puck in The Sandman and Farrell in Safe Harbor.

Isaac Hempstead Wright

Think what you want of Bran Stark becoming king, but there’s no doubt that we were rooting for the character throughout the show. Bran was the sweetest boy, trying to figure out a new normal after being pushed out of the tower and losing the use of his legs. It certainly made Isaac Hempstead Wright an actor to follow, but he’s not been seen in much since Game of Thrones ended. In fact, he’s played Edward in Voyagers and that’s it!

Isaac Hempstead Wright has shown us that he has the range, but the few projects he was attached to never got off the ground due to various issues, including the pandemic and the Hollywood strikes of 2023. We can hold out hope we’ll see more of him in the future.

Ben Hawkey

There are some characters who weren’t well-liked at first, but we grew to love them. Hot Pie was one of them. Initially someone who tried to stop to Ayra, Hot Pie ended up becoming a friend. Instead of heading to the Wall, he found a place at an inn where he could make his bread. His final scene where he gave Arya some bread shaped like a wolf was just perfect.

Ben Hawkey has had only had one acting job since leaving Game of Thrones, but hopefully he'll et another chance soon, if he wants it.

Rory McCann

I've focused on some of the younger actors from Game of Thrones, but there are some adult actors who we would love to see more of as well. Rory McCann brought the Hound to life. It was clear that while he was tough on the outside, there was a softness to him that only revealed itself over time. We loved his connections to both Sansa and Arya Stark.

McCann has been in a few projects since Game of Thrones ended, including Netflix’s The Irregulars and the movie The Damned. You can head to theaters right now to see him in Gladiator II. Hopefully, these recent movie roles are a sign that he’ll be back on our screens in a bigger way in 2025. We need the tough guy with the soft middle.

Game of Thrones is available to stream in full on Max.
