The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 has officially concluded with Daryl and Carol essentially back where they started the season, stuck ashore in Spain. Their attempts made to return to the United States have been countless, and although season 3 was a far cry better than season 2, the boat catching fire wasn't a satisfying reason to prevent the duo from leaving.
But the entire season wasn't just about repairing and preparing a boat. A plethora of new characters arrived (both good and bad), romance reigned supreme, and the Spanish landscape was a much-needed breath of fresh air compared to dreary and gloomy France.
Through the exquisite storytelling, inspiration from old Westerns, and good old fashioned walker battles, audiences were left with numerous questions. With one season left of The Walking Dead spinoff, we'd like these five questions addressed and answered.

1. What will become of Carol and Antonio's relationship?
If there is one thing that is guaranteed about The Walking Dead franchise, its that Carol always manages to find romance. Previously she was tied to Tobin and married to King Ezekiel. Now she seems to have had her heart captured by widower Antonio.
From the moment the two met, the attraction was far from subtle. They had the opportunity to bond while Antonio's son Roberto sought a new means of leaving Spain, and during Daryl's mission to rescue Justina. By the end of the season, it seems pretty clear the two are romantically involved, but how long will this last?
Romances on The Walking Dead have a 50/50 survival rate. Where we can praise Rick and Michonne's love defeating all odds, we must also remember Daryl and Leah's tragic fallout.
We're relieved to see Antonio survive until the end of the season, but will he be so lucky in season 4?

2. How will Codron become involved?
From villain to ally, Codron was one of Daryl's enemies from season 1 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Codron's hate for Daryl stemmed from a lie and miscommunication; Daryl had killed his brother, but it was in self-defense.
Once that was cleared up, Codron remained loyal to Daryl, even to the point of getting tortured and nearly killed by Genet, the leader of Pouvoir, (essentially France's version of the CRM). But the two were once again at odds during the season 2 finale, due to Codron hallucinating.
Surprisingly, he survived, showing up for two episodes in season 3: once while recognizing Laurent's Rubik's Cube Daryl left at a statue, and during the season finale where he sees the boat our heroes were using as a way home on fire. We're curious as to whether Codron will return for season 3 considering, from the limited time he was on screen, that he appears to be a man wandering the world looking for a new purpose.
As far as we know, he hadn't been actively searching for Daryl after finding the Rubik's Cube. The only reason he may reunite with our heroes is because he happened to be present the night the boat caught fire.

3. How will Daryl and Carol get home now?
What started as Daryl's attempt to return home from France has turned into a hero's epic he never signed up for. Never one to deny a kid in need, Daryl agreed to help transport Laurent to a safe haven in France during season 1, as Laurent was deemed special since birth.
By season 2, Carol entered the fray in an attempt to bring Daryl home via airplane. This plan failed when the plane only had room for two passengers.
In season 3, Daryl and Carol set sail for Spain with the help of an Englishman named Julian. But he soon dies, leaving them alone in a foreign country. The plan this season is to obtain a boat and leave, with forbidden romance couple Roberto and Justina in tow. But as we found out last night, their boat, which they had spent all season repairing, catches on fire. So...the question remains, how will they get home now?
Season 4 is the final season of the spinoff, which can only mean they finally make it back home. But how will they get there? Will Antonio, Roberto and Justina survive the journey? And who else will they meet along the way?

4. Will the Los Primitivos return?
One of the most violent groups to ever emerge during the apocalypse has left quite the mark on the franchise as a whole. With Justina gone, Roberto trying to recover after his failed rescue attempt, and relations with Guillermo and Fede on the rocks, the last thing anyone expected was an attack by a group of people who call themselves Los Primitivos.
Daryl had seen a small number of them during the first night ashore in Spain. He watched from afar, refusing to engage, leaving audiences to wonder who they were and when they'd return.
Combining primitive weapons with modern technology like vehicles, the group — or more like army — of villainous people attack Fede's town. The battle went on and on, seemingly unending. When Fede's people manage to capture one of the Los Primitivos, they learn their numbers could be in the thousands. Why people would willingly want to survive this way is beyond all comprehension (same argument can be made about The Whisperers).
But we never see the group for the rest of the season, which means they'll probably be back for the fourth and final season.

Where will the group go next?
To briefly recap, the group, now consisting of Daryl, Carol, Antonio, Roberto and Justina, lost their only means of leaving Spain during the season 3 finale. Paz had already parted ways with Daryl back in Barcelona with her love interest Elena and Elena's son.
The King and Queen of Spain were killed along with their subjects. Fede has been released from prison by his mother, but we hardly think returning to his town is a logical choice.
Where will the group go next for help? Their only other ally, Valentina, who had been helping them prepare the boat, could provide insight. Perhaps they hear a rumor of a community, or perhaps other characters from The Walking Dead find them. Your guess is as good as ours.
