A raven has just arrived with exciting news for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2! Today, the official Game of Thrones X account announced three new cast members joining the second season of HBO's newest Thrones prequel series. And just like with season 1, the casting department completely nailed the assignment.
Lucy Boynton will play Lady Rohanne Webber, Babou Ceesay will portray Ser Bennis of the Brown Shield, and Peter Mullan will appear as Ser Eustace Osgrey. Together, they make up most of the core new players for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2.
Every journey needs new companions.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 is based on George R.R. Martin's novella "The Sworn Sword," which sees Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his squire Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell) get caught in the middle of a land dispute between two noble houses, with each laying claim to a river in the middle of a terrible drought. Dunk has sworn his sword to Ser Eustace Osgrey, a landed kight who controls a small hold in the southern Reach called Standfast. Osgrey's rival is Lady Rohanne Webber, the Lady of Coldmoat, who refuses to cede the water rights that Osgrey so ardently believes are owed him.
Then there's Ser Bennis of the Brown Shield. He's another hedge knight like Dunk, who has also taken up temporary service with Ser Eustace. Bennis has a history with Dunk; he knew Ser Arlan of Pennytree, and is one of the few people living who remembers when Dunk was still the old knight's squire. He also has a reputation for not being the most hygienic person in the room; it'll be interesting to see whether the show keeps Bennis' stinkier aspects.
These castings are absolutely spot on. Lucy Boynton has appeared in a number of movies, including Murder on the Orient Express and Bohemian Rhapsody; she's absolutely got the look for Rohanne Webber, minus the character's trademark red hair. Babou Ceesay appeared most recently in Alien: Earth as the cyborg Morrow, where he turned in one of the best performances of the series; I have a feeling he's going to elevate Bennis far above his book counterpart.
As for Peter Mullan, I recognize him from The Witcher season 4, where he played Geralt's mentor, Vesemir. While Vesemir himself was fairly underutilized, Mullan's portrayal was excellent. He also played King Durin III in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. It's very easy to imagine him as the aging, proud, and reminiscent Ser Eustace Osgrey.
"The Sworn Sword" is a tighter story than "The Hedge Knight," the events of which were adapted in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1. With these three roles announced, there's only one other main character for season 2 who the show needs to reveal the casting for: Ser Lucas Inchfield, a.k.a. Lucas Longinch. He's Lady Rohanne's castellan, and as dangerous a foe as Dunk has yet to face.
I'm sure we'll find out who's playing Longinch soon enough, but for now, knowing which actors will appear as Lady Rohanne, Ser Eustace, and Ser Bennis is plenty. The hype for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 increases!
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 is currently filming. It's slated to debut on HBO and HBO Max sometime in 2027.
