Noah Hawley's Alien: Earth debuted in 2025 to solid ratings. A standalone prequel, the series carved out its own section of the long-running Alien mythos, set two years before the events of the original 1979 Alien film. Now in production, the second season has added some top names to its cast.
All of the main Alien: Earth cast members are returning in season 2, including Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Babou Ceesay, Samuel Blenkin, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, David Rysdahl, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Adrian Edmondson, Moe Bar-El, and Sandra Yi Sencindiver.
Peter Dinklage, Jerome Flynn, and Sam Spurell all cast in season 2
The upcoming season has previously announced that Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) has joined in a series regular role. And in the latest round of casting, Alien: Earth has added three big stars: Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell, and Jerome Flynn.
This is awesome news, considering the second season will now feature not just one but three Game of Thrones franchise actors. Of course, Dinklage's Tyrion and Flynn's Bronn were among the best, and funniest, double acts in Westeros. They were initially brought together at the Crossroads Inn. Bronn later fought as Tyrion's champion in his trial by combat at the Eyrie. After, they crossed paths regularly in season 2 when Bronn served as the Commander of the City Watch. Overall, they shared scenes across over 20 episodes, from seasons 1 through 8.
Fans will also recognize Sam Spruell from his role as Prince Maekar Targaryen in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
All of that said, the idea of seeing Dinklage and Flynn onscreen together again has spurred much excitement. But don't take it from us. Take a look at some social media reactions:

Alien: Earth season 2 is now filming
Production on Alien: Earth season 2 is now underway in Pinewood Studios in London. This marks a major shift after the debut season filmed in Thailand. But according to showrunner Noah Hawley, the re-location is more efficient. "We had a great experience in Thailand, but for a couple of reasons London is a better home for us long-term,” he told Deadline.
Pinewood Studios feels like a natural home for the series, as it is where Alien, Alien 2, Alien 3 and Prometheus were primarily shot.
Alien: Earth season 2 is expected to wrap later this year, with a release date estimated for sometime in late 2027.
