The second season of Arcane, based on the video game League of Legends, has officially kicked off on Netflix. This is also the show's final season, so expect the conflicts between the cities of Piltover and Zaun, and between sisters Jinx and Vi, to be resolved by the end, one way or another.
Just like in the first season, Netflix is releasing new episodes of Arcane in three-episodes chunks, which it's calling Acts. The three episodes in Act 1 dropped on Saturday, November 9. The remaining two acts will follow on the two subsequent Saturdays. Here's the full release schedule:
Arcane season 2 Act 1: Saturday, November 9
- Episode 201: "Heavy Is the Crown"
- Episode 202: "Watch It All Burn"
- Episode 203: "Finally Got the Name Right"
Arcane season 2 Act 2: Saturday, November 16
- Episode 204
- Episode 205
- Episode 206
Arcane season 2 Act 3: Saturday, November 23
- Episode 207
- Episode 208
- Episode 209
Netflix is withholding the episode titles until the day the episodes actually drop, probably because it knows we want to know what they are ahead of time and they're trying to be deliberately hurtful.
Arcane has been both a ratings success and a critical success for Netflix. Given that, some fans were surprised that it was only going to last two seasons, but co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee have maintained that this was always the plan.
However, people behind the show have said that Arcane is meant merely to be the first of many stories set within this world, so even if this particular show will be over by the end of November, there could be more ahead for those willing to wait.
And even if fans never do get a follow-up to Arcane, the show has been so solid that it's hard to complain. Let's enjoy these final nine episodes and cross the bridge to another series when we come to it.
