October cannot come soon enough for Avatar: The Last Airbender fans! During the Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Paramount+ confirmed the latest chapter in its beloved franchise will arrive on Paramount+ on October 9 with the premiere of Avatar: Seven Havens!Â
The new original series from creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko was first announced in February 2025, and fans have anxiously been waiting for news of the show’s release date. Now, we not only have an official release date for the series but also our first look. That’s right, in addition to setting a premiere date for the series during the Comic-Con panel, Paramount+ also released the very first trailer for the new original series, which introduces fans to the show’s central characters in what promises to be a visually stunning new addition to the franchise.Â
As you may have picked up on from the trailer, Avatar: Seven Havens is set in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and will center around Ellora, a young Earthbender who discovers she’s the new Avatar after Korra. When re-entering the franchise through Avatar: Seven Havens, fans will enter a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm as the series brings a dangerous new era.Â
Our young Earthbender’s title marks her as humanity’s destroyer, not its savior, which results in Ellora being hunted by both humans and spirit enemies. Across the 26-episode series, which will be broken into two books each comprised of 13 episodes, fans will follow Ellora as she and her long-lost twin work to uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization’s last strongholds collapse.
The series is one that Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation President Ramsey Naito promises will introduce fans to groundbreaking storylines that will captivate the franchise's many fans across the world!
"For two decades, the richly crafted world of Avatar: The Last Airbender has introduced audiences to a world of compelling characters and groundbreaking storylines, captivating fans globally," Naito promised of the series when it was first announced. "We can’t wait to embark on the next chapter of this epic saga, with a new story set within the Avatarverse, envisioned by the original creators, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko."
Fans will indeed be in for a treat this October when Avatar: Seven Havens arrives and they get to officially meet the key characters who play a role in this new chapter. That includes Saheli Khan as Pavi, Aishu Devan as Nisha, Akshay Khanna as Karthik, Major Curda as Jae, Sakina Jaffrey as Agam, Darren Barnet as Daemin, Dianne Doan as Zi, and Dee Bradley Baker as Geet and Ruhi.
