This year, HBO will debut a new Game of Thrones prequel show: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will run for six episodes later this year; we still don't know exactly when. The show is based on George R.R. Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas, about a knight and his squire who travel the Seven Kingdoms living the life of a humble hedge knight.
So far, the above image of lead character Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) is the only pic from the show that HBO has released. But that may start changing soon as we get closer to a release date. And there are behind-the-scenes pics already making their way around online. One pic shows what appears to be a moment from a key action scene. Behold:

Martin has written three Dunk and Egg novellas so far. The first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is based on the first, titled The Hedge Knight. Without spoiling things, that novella ends with a fight between two sets of knights, with seven men on each side, Dunk among them. It's smaller in scale than some of the spectacular battles we've seen on Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon — in general, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is set to be a lighter, gentler show than either of its predecessors — but HBO promises it will be just as satisfying.
Anyway, it looks like the blurry behind-the-scenes image is from this scene, with Dunk mounted on a horse and looking a lot like how the characters has been illustrated before.
Again, we don't know when A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will premiere, other than that it's coming to HBO and Max later this year. After that, House of the Dragon — which is set decades before A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms — will return for its third season sometime in 2026.
