Marvel released the first teaser trailer for Daredevil: Born Again season 2 on Tuesday. The 1:18-minute clip did not offer much except setting the stage for what seems like an all-guns-blazing war between Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin.
The last time we saw the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, he had his mind set on assembling a motley crew of 'heroes' to fight back against Fisk's Anti-Vigilante Task Force, a group of glorified muscle to keep the blood off Kingpin's hands.
Jessica Jones will appear in Daredevil: Born Again season 2
Halfway through the teaser, we see a pair of booted feet walk in, and the camera pans to Matt's old friend and fan-favorite Marvel character, Jessica Jones. Krysten Ritter looks like she slipped back into the role of the deadpan, dry-witted detective superhero without missing a beat. She speaks to Matt, who looks characteristically bruised and battered and sprawled across what looks like a church pew, and offers him her help, but barely.
A few seconds later, she is seen hitting an AVTF member right in the face with a huge metal door.
All in all, she looks and acts exactly how she left us in season 3 of Jessica Jones, and it is absolutely refreshing to see. Ritter herself felt the same about reviving the character. During an interview with Screen Rant for the press of Dexter: Resurrection, Ritter shared her thoughts on it.
"It's gritty. It feels big, too," she said. "The crew is amazing. I've had an amazing experience. I can't say anything, but I love being with Charlie. It was like, as if no time had passed."

Jessica Jones' return isn't news. Fans have known for a while that Ritter would reprise the character, and a first look was revealed in December, featuring her alongside Cox in Daredevil's costume.
Marvel's New York-based street-level universe was still on Netflix when we last saw Jessica Jones on TV. She was torn between doing the right thing and saving her childhood best friend, Trish, from the downward spiral into a murderous Hellcat. The season ended with Trish being sent to the Raft prison and Jessica embracing her role as a hero for the city. With her PTSD over Kilgrave more or less in check and the mystery surrounding her mother resolved, it felt like a natural ending point for her story.
Jessica and Matt teamed up in the highly disappointing 2017 show, The Defenders, alongside Luke Cage and Danny Rand's Iron Fist. The two had an interesting cat-and-mouse dynamic, with Jessica's unstoppable cynicism meeting Matt's immovable idealism.
We don't know the extent of Jessica Jones' role in the new season of Daredevil: Born Again, whether she will only be around as a support for Matt, or her side of things will be fleshed out as well. Either way, it is always a delight to see her beat up bad guys without as much as a flinch.
Elsewhere in the teaser, we see that Matt has found his way back into Karen Page's (Deborah Ann Woll) arms despite mountains of unspoken feelings and tragedies between them. We also see their deceased friend Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) for a second. Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum confirmed last year that both Ann Woll and Henson will be back in season 2 "in different ways," which could mean anything between a flashback or a resurrection.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 premieres March 24 on Disney+.
