We all know how video game adaptations can be. Sometimes they’re a total hit, other times… well, let’s just say they make you wonder how anyone thought this could work beyond the game console. But Halo? It’s one of those rare cases where the story, the action, and the characters actually come together to make something worth watching.
According to What's on Netflix, Netflix is finally giving U.S. fans access to both seasons. Halo seasons 1 and 2 are reportedly set to be released on the streaming platform on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025. While the release time is unknown, there's a good chance the show will drop on Netflix at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on this release date. This is the usual time the streaming giant adds new content to its platform. But again, exact timing hasn’t been officially confirmed.

This is the first time Halo will be available to U.S. viewers outside of Paramount+. Given that it's a Paramount+ original, it comes as a surprise that Netflix has acquired the rights to stream both seasons. It would've made more sense if Halo was still airing because this would've been Paramount+'s way to garner more viewers and build hype around the show.
We've seen this happen recently with the Paramount+ original series School Spirits, where the streamer allowed the supernatural drama series to stream on Netflix as a way to increase the show's exposure and audience. With Halo no longer airing, Netflix’s acquisition feels more like a win for viewers than a strategic move by Paramount+. Nonetheless, this move gives those who missed it the first time or who don't have a Paramount+ subscription the perfect opportunity to catch up on both seasons. It is believed that Halo seasons 1 and 2 will still be available to stream on Paramount+ after they land on Netflix.
Halo is a live-action series adaptation of the popular video game franchise of the same name. Kyle Killen and Steven Kane developed the military sci-fi series, which follows Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 and the ongoing war between humans and the alien Covenant. Pablo Schreiber took on the leading role of Master Chief Petty Officer John-117. Also in the cast were Jen Taylor, Shabana Azmi, Yerin Ha, Olive Gray, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, Danny Sapani, Bokeem Woodbine, and many others.
Unfortunately, Paramount+ canceled Halo in July 2024 after only two seasons. However, don't let its cancellation deter you from checking it out once it arrives on Netflix. There will be 17 episodes in total available for you to watch and enjoy.
