The cast and crew of House of the Dragon are very hard at work filming the third season, and we've gotten an eyeful lately. In particular, they've recently spent a lot of time filming a major action sequence called the Battle of the Gullet, which should kick off season 3 when it drops sometime in 2026. But Westeros is at war, and there's more than one battle in our future.
To wit: @housethedragons brings us new photos of a set going up at Leavesden Studios in England. This is the town of Tumbleton, which we heard about briefly in season 2. Kat (Ellora Torchia), who's married to newly minted dragonrider Hugh Hammer (Kieran Bew), mentioned wanting to flee there rather than stay in their home in King's Landing, since things there were getting increasingly unstable. The crew has been building the Tumbleton set for a long while, and it now looks pretty much done to me:

I'll keep spoilers to a minimum, but if you've read George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood, you know that Kat's hope that Tumbleton will be safer than King's Landing is made in vain. The town is the sight of another big action sequence that we expect to go down near the end of the season, one of four "major events" from the book that showrunner Ryan Condal has promised will show up.
Daeron Targaryen approaches
They're building the Tumbleton set in the safety of Leavesden Studios, not that it's stopping inquisitive fans from using drones to snap photos like this. Meanwhile, on-location shooting continues. Elsewhere in England, in Surry, the crew has erected a medieval army camp, with pictures and video once again brought to us by the intrepid folks at @housethedragons, who are always on top of this stuff:

As filmagens começam na próxima semana. Será que finalmente veremos o Daeron Targaryen? 👀#HouseoftheDragonS3 pic.twitter.com/Iw6vEjYb5J
This camp is led by Ormund Hightower, a character we've heard about in prior seasons but have yet to see. In season 3, he'll be played by James Norton. Ormund Hightower is the current leader of House Hightower, and cousin to characters like Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and her son King Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney). Obviously, Ormund supports Aegon's claim to the Iron Throne over that of his half-sister Queen Rhaenrya (Emma D'Arcy). We briefly saw Ormund's army on the march at the end of season 2, and obviously they'll play a bigger role going forward.
According to @housethedragons, filming at this location will involve 200 extras. It'll start next week and last through August, so they'll be there a while. Another character very likely to show up is Daeron Targaryen, Alicent's fourth child who we've only heard about thus far. In Fire & Blood, Daeron travels rides the dragon Tessarion and travels with the Hightower army. He has a fairly big role going forward, so it's time to finally get him onscreen. We'll keep an eye out.
