Check out stunning fan-made poster for a Game of Thrones spinoff about Arya Stark

A while back, George R.R. Martin met with Maisie Williams and hinted that they talked about some kind of mystery project that "could be so much fun." Is an Arya Stark sequel series afoot?

HBO was working on Game of Thrones spinoff ideas even before the show ended in 2019, and they've since borne fruit. House of the Dragon wrapped up its second season earlier this year and a new prequel series called A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is coming in 2025. For a while, HBO was working on an idea for a sequel series that would follow Jon Snow (Kit Harington), but they couldn't find the right angle, so it's been put back on the shelf, at least for now.

Will we ever get a Game of Thrones sequel series? It's hard to say, but there are definitely ideas out there. One of the popular sequel series suggestions has been a show about Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), who ended the original series by getting on a boat and heading west of Westeros, sailing into the unknown. Obviously there are lots of possibilities there. What would she find? What would she learn about herself, the world and everything?

For his part, Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin has teased meeting up with Maisie Williams to talk about some kind of project. Were they discussing an Arya spinoff? We can't know, but fans have picked up the slack and designed their own posters. Feast your eyes on this poster for Arya Stark: West of the World.

Obviously, this is a poster for a show that doesn't exist; Arya Stark: West of the World is not coming to Max in May. But if it did, I'd probably check it out. Arya Stark stands on the edge of an unexplored continent, her cloak ripping in the morning fog. What's out there? What might she discover? Find out Sundays on HBO.

In theory, someday. In the meanwhile, the first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms — based on Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas — will premiere on HBO sometime in the back half of next year. House of the Dragon will return for a third season sometime in 2026.
