The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2, The Book of Carol, ended with Daryl and Carol heading through the Channel Tunnel. Looking ahead to season 3, the duo will end up on English shores for the first time ever, marking the first time the franchise has visited that part of the world.

The Daryl Dixon season 2 finale was an action-packed, crazy hour of television. Fleeing France, both Daryl and Carol made their way down the dark and cavernous Channel Tunnel — once the railway that went between England and France — where they encountered myriad troubles. The zombies down there had become veiny, mutated messes, unlike anything we've seen before. Moreover, toxic gasses meant our duo were hallucinating throughout their journey.

But by the end of the episode, it's presumed that they make it to England safe and sound... well, still alive, at least. That's exactly where the season ends. Looking ahead to season 3, which is confirmed to premiere in 2025, both Carol and Daryl will adventure around post-apocalyptic England, giving us our first look at how the country dealt with the outbreak.

There, they meet a currently unnamed character portrayed by legendary comedian and actor Stephen Merchant. Fans will no doubt remember him from his roles in The Office, Outlaws, Jojo Rabbit, and so on. I personally know him best from voicing Wheatley in Portal 2. Sadly, we don't know much about his character yet, and Merchant himself is remaining tight-lipped about the subject. "As a fan of ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’, I was excited when they asked me to join the #TWD universe for season 3. But don’t ask me for spoilers - my lips are sealed," he wrote on X.

The teaser also gives us our first look at sunny Spain. The bulk of the upcoming season is set to take place in Spain, with filming taking place mostly in Madrid. As for how Daryl and Carol end up there, story details remain very much under wraps.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 is confirmed to premiere sometime in 2025. That's three seasons in three years, which is a pretty unprecedented return for a show like this nowadays! Fair to say, The Walking Dead is a well-oiled machine at this point.
