If you're a fan of both fantasy and horror, an upcoming new horror movie will be right up your alley. Two stars who appear in HBO's most popular fantasy drama series, Dune: Prophecy and House of the Dragon, are teaming up on screen for an unexpected take on exorcism. It's not the crossover we were ever expecting, but it's an exciting one nonetheless.
According to a report from Deadline, Dune: Prophecy star Josh Heuston and House of the Dragon season 1 recurring star Ryan Corr will headline the Biblical horror thriller The First Exorcist. The film comes from director Greg McLean, an Australian filmmaker who previously directed Corr in the horror movie Wolf Creek 2, but it's the first collaboration between the Australian actors.
Josh Heuston and Ryan Corr starring in The First Exorcist
The First Exorcist takes its inspiration from the Gospel story revolving around the revered Alexios, a member of a farming community and a father and husband. As explained in the synopsis shared by Deadline, the man's body becomes taken over by demons and his community approaches him with fear as the manifestation of his possession becomes increasingly violent. Soon, Jesus arrives to this town with his followers to free Alexios of the Gerasene Demoniac and engage in the titular first exorcism, the Miracle of the Swine.

The film is expected to begin filming before the end of 2026 and will be taken out on the Cannes market for sales. The First Exorcist will continue to build out its cast after setting Heuston and Corr as its leads, though it hasn't been confirmed which characters the actors will play. (We can assume that Corr will play Alexios and Heuston will taken on the role of Jesus.)
Josh Heuston stars in HBO's Dune: Prophecy as Constantine Corrino, the son of Padishah Emperor Javicco Corrino (Mark Strong) and half-sister of Princess Ynez (Sarah-Sofie Boussnina). Even though he only appeared in four out of six season 1 episodes and the finale had an ambiguous ending for Constantine, he's set to reprise his role in the forthcoming season 2. Heuston will also next appear in the highly anticipated Prime Video series Off Campus premiering on May 13.
In case you forgot who Ryan Corr played in House of the Dragon, the actor appeared in four episodes of the Game of Thrones prequel series' first season as Ser Harwin Strong, a secret lover of Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) and the real father of her children. Unfortunately, Harwin dies in the first season and doesn't appear again in the series. Corr has appeared in many Australian movies and shows that American audiences probably haven't seen outside his work in House of the Dragon.
Since production on The First Exorcist doesn't begin until later this year, fans of the actors probably shouldn't expect to see the horror movie making the rounds in theaters and streaming releases until much before sometime in 2027. But you can catch Corr in a much-needed House of the Dragon rewatch before season 3 premieres in June, and Heston in Dune: Prophecy season 2 this year.
