We have a while to wait before we get to see new episodes of House of the Dragon, HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series, but the cast members are keeping busy in the meantime. At the moment, Emma D'Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen) is starring in a Greek myth-inspired drama called The Other Place at the National Theatre in London. D'Arcy is incredibly compelling onscreen and I can easily imagine them commanding the stage as well.

That said, the National Theater is an ocean away from where I live, so I doubt I'll be taking it in. But D'Arcy's House of the Dragon castmates live much closer. In a video on X, we can see House of the Dragon stars Harry Collett (who plays Rhaenyra's son Jace) and Ewan Mitchell (who plays her younger half-brother Aemond) showing up to watch their colleague work:

It also looks like Fabien Frankel (Criston Cole), Steve Toussaint (Corlys Velaryon), Bethany Antonia (Baela Targaryen), Kieran Bew (Hugh Hammer) and Emily Carey (Young Alicent Hightower) were there too. It's good to see the Greens and Blacks putting aside those imaginary differences for a night at the theater!

Emma D'Arcy stars in scary short film Rhoda

As long as we're talking about D'Arcy's career, Deadline reports that she's starring in a new short film called Rhoda, which is premiering at the London Film Festival today. Rhoda is about a solitary woman of the same name (Juliet Stevenson) who's always lived alone. When she takes on a strange lodger named Louis (D'Arcy) things get disturbing.

How exactly do they get disturbing? I'm not sure, and I don't know if I would spoil the mystery if I was. the short film is written and directed by Black Mirror actor Alex Lawther, with whom D'Arcy worked before on the short film For People in Trouble. About Rhoda, D'Arcy said that Lawther had “managed to capture something I haven’t really seen dramatized before – namely, the great peril involved in inviting another person to share your private space.”

So Rhaenyra Targaryen is off on screens for a while, but Emma D'Arcy is everywhere. Expect House of the Dragon to return for a third season on HBO and Max sometime in 2026.
