Fallout just added a major name to season 3 that promises to bring more drama to the Prime Video hit.
Production on the third season of the video game adaptation is underway, and, according to Deadline, they’re adding star power in Aaron Paul. The Emmy award-winning actor will be reuniting with executive producer Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, having appeared in the final two seasons of the HBO series Westworld, which the pair produced.
In other Fallout casting news, Annabel O’Hagen, who plays Stephanie Harper, and Davie Register, who plays Chet, have both been upped to series regulars for season 3. That promises more stories for their characters.
The addition of Paul is a major one for the show. After small roles in various TV shows, the actor broke out big time in 2008 with Breaking Bad as Jesse Pinkman, the wild partner of Bryan Cranston’s Walt White. Paul earned numerous accolades for the part, including three Emmy Awards. He reprised his role for El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie and the spinoff prequel Better Call Saul.
Paul has remained busy with shows like Westworld, The Path, Truth Be Told and BoJack Horseman. That gives him major clout, as he fits in well among ensembles while still stealing a scene. He should be a great addition to Fallout, even if the question is who he’ll play on the show.
Who could Aaron Paul play on Fallout? We speculate…
It’s unclear yet whether Paul is going to be a semi-regular for season 3, recurring or only appear in one episode. Fallout has proven adept at bringing in notable actors for a single tale (often a flashback) so Paul may only be popping up fast. The fact that he has a busy slate with numerous other projects hints at a smaller role.
It would be fitting that Paul appears in a single episode as he could fit many roles. He could be a company man involved in the nuclear war in flashbacks, one of the current soldiers or simply someone trying to survive in this world. Perhaps he'll play against type as a more friendly and hopeful sort to provide much-needed light hearted humor.
Yet fans are hopeful it can be more, with some suggesting Paul could be playing the Courier, a popular character brought up in season 2. Paul’s involvement is no real surprise, as he’s known as a fan of the franchise and in the past has gushed about the show.
Fallout has become a massive success since its debut in 2024, earning multiple Emmy Awards nominations. Set 200 years after a nuclear war devastated Earth, a young woman (Ella Purnell) crosses the surface on a quest that exposes her to this horrific world.
