Interview With The Vampire is AMC's adaptation of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles books, and it is the best show no one is watching (the first season is on Netflix; hint hint). AMC is currently gearing up for season 3, which will mainly adapt Rice's book The Vampire Lestat. That means the libertine vampire Lestat (Sam Reid) will start a rock band and share secrets about the vampire underworld with his fans, angering the wider vampire population. It's a very him thing to do.
Showrunner Rolin Jones has promised that season 3 will be a "pop masterpiece" with plenty of music; we've already heard one of the songs in a first-look teaser from last year. With production gearing up, AMC has released a little behind-the-scenes look that includes a glimpse of Sam Reid rehearsing one of the new songs. He pops up at the very end. Take a look:

Okay, so all we get is three seconds of Sam Reid going "ah ah" and waving his arm around his head, but that's three more seconds than we had before!
This is clearly a fun little bit of pre-planned chaos from the cast and crew. Another outtake has the writer's assistant opening the door to Reid's rehearsal room before he gives her a glare and she closes it again:

"Do do do! Dah dah dah! Something something I could be your morning star!" Or at least that's the most I can make out of the lyrics. If anyone else has a better ear, feel free to sound off in the comments.
AMC clearly enjoyed putting this video together. They even made a fake idea board for the ninth episode of Interview With The Vampire season 3, which includes notecards that say things like "Lestat visits mastiff rescue" and "Kendrick Lamar releases Marius diss track."
alright alright... the spoof board for imaginary Interview With the Vampire episode 30g. https://t.co/pMFbTH0Lp2 pic.twitter.com/Xuo01JG1Is

Just to be clear, this is obviously fake, but it certainly seems like the Interview With The Vampire team is enjoying themselves, doesn't it? Hopefully that sense of play will come through when the third season of Interview With The Vampire airs on AMC. As for when that could be, it's hard to say. So far as genre shows go, Interview With The Vampire isn't that hard to film, but I still wouldn't expect new episodes before 2026.
