Game of Thrones characters as Minions, the video

What if Cersei, Sansa, Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Khal Drogo, T'ywin Lannister and the rest were rendered as Minions? Wonder no further:

Game of Thrones is an epic fantasy TV series epic that ran for eight seasons on HBO, an adult drama about people willing to lie and kill for power. Also there are dragons. Minions are little yellow people in blue onesies who originally served the supervillain Gru in the Despicable Me series before breaking out on their own. They talk in a gibberish language and engage in endlessly entertaining Three Stooges-esque bouts of physical comedy.

Game of Thrones and Minions might not seem to have anything in common, because they don't have anything in common. But Pablo Prompt on Twitter/X has mashed the two series together, and now we get to watch:

I'll admit it right now: I've never seen a Despicable Me movie, nor a Minions movie. But even I know the little guys chant "banana" and "papaya" a lot, or words that sound enough like them. And I don't need to have seen the movies to enjoy the sight of Cersei and Arya and Tyrion and Jon and Daenerys and all the rest rendered as adorably hapless lil' weirdos. The highlight has to be Minion Joffrey choking to death on poisoned wine. Combining grisly and adorable always works. See also Minion Viserys getting molten gold poured on his head. And there's probably already a Funko Pop of Minion Drogon out there somewhere.

Why does Minion Tyrion have a golden metal arm? That's undetermined, although it's probably a result of Pablo Prompt using AI to create these little video snippets. AI is controversial, but also: it's Hodor holding a door as a Minion. I think we'll be fine.

The fourth Despicable Me movie featuring Minions came out earlier this year to a predictably rapturous box office. Meanwhile, while Game of Thrones is over, the franchise continues in the form of spinoffs like House of the Dragon. Perhaps these two series will cross over again someday.
