A Game of Thrones fan favorite is trading Westeros for the world of Netflix’s blockbuster Extraction franchise. Can you guess who it is? You might recognize this talented actress from her previous role as Margaery Tyrell in the hit HBO fantasy drama series, or perhaps you watched her in the historical drama series The Tudors. It's none other than Natalie Dormer! She joins a growing cast of stars for the upcoming Extraction series.

Extraction was first announced back in February 2025. At the time, it was revealed that Lupin's Omar Sy had joined the Netflix action thriller show in the leading role, with Glen Mazzara (The Walking Dead) signed on as showrunner and executive producer. Joe Russo and Anthony Russo’s AGBO, which produced the hit Extraction films starring Chris Hemsworth, was also announced to be on board to executive produce the series. Mazzara was later announced to be signed on to write and direct as well. In addition, there will be eight episodes in the first season.
Set in the same universe as the movies, the Extraction series sees Sy playing a mercenary on a perilous mission to rescue hostages in Libya, where he’s forced to navigate deadly factions, ruthless killers, and his own inner demons. However, it's unclear what his character's name is. Boyd Holbrook (The Sandman, Justified: City Primeval) was announced to have joined the cast in August 2025. He reportedly takes on a series regular role, portraying Extraction team leader, David Ibarra.
Like Sy and Holbrook, Dormer joins the cast as another series regular. According to Deadline, she plays the role of Clayton Wisper, the leader of a private military contractor. It'll be interesting to see how her character interacts with Sy and Holbrook's characters. Will they get along or clash? We'll just have to wait until Extraction comes out to find out!
Unfortunately, that's all that's been revealed about this upcoming action thriller show at the moment. With casting announcements constantly coming in, we can probably expect more details about the storyline, additional cast members, and production schedule soon.
But in the meantime, you'll have to watch some of the cast's previous work mentioned above. Or, you can stream Extraction and Extraction 2 on Netflix. Although the series will tell a completely different story, it'll still give you an idea of what the show version will be like. However, keep in mind that you'll need to be subscribed to Netflix in order to gain access to the films.
