FX's upcoming untitled Witness Protection pilot has just received an exciting update. A fan-favorite star from a major fantasy hit has joined the cast. It's none other than Aidan Gillen, who many may recognize from his iconic role as Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish in HBO's Game of Thrones. He's the latest addition to the cast, which already includes Alison Brie, Pablo Schreiber, Zoë Chao, Jamie Neumann, and Antonella Rose.

Game of Thrones actor Aidan Gillen boards FX's Witness Protection pilot
According to Deadline, Gillen will guest star in the pilot. However, the news outlet also reports that he could appear in more episodes if the show is picked up for a full series. Fingers crossed this happens because who wouldn't want to see more of this amazingly talented actor on their screen?
The Witness Protection pilot will be directed by Hannah Fidell (A Teacher), who is also a co-writer, showrunner, and executive producer. In addition, Gina Welch (Clipped) serves as a showrunner, executive producer, and co-writer. Nicole Lambert is also signed on as an executive producer for Riverain Pictures.
The pilot is based on a previously unproduced script by David Chase (creator of The Sopranos). It centers on Remy, a high-end D.C. madam whose life drastically changes after a violent altercation. She betrays her partner and goes into witness protection in coastal Maine with her daughter. The plot alone is already enough to pique someone's interest!
Brie stars in the leading role as Remy, while Gillen plays Carl Milliken III, a business executive who is very focused on his work rather than the military contractors he deals with. Then, there's Schreiber, who portrays a gun store owner who becomes an ally to Remy. Rose takes on the role of Liv, Remy’s daughter, Chao plays the mother of one of Liv’s friends, and Neumann portrays an escort.
Besides starring in Game of Thrones, Gillen is known for his roles in Peaky Blinders as Aberama Gold, The Wire as Mayor Tommy Carcetti and Mayor of Kingstown as Milo Sunter. You might even remember him from films like Bohemian Rhapsody, the Maze Runner sequels or Those Who Wish Me Dead. Other than FX's Witness Protection pilot, we'll see him next in The Physician II, Tall Tales & Murder, Black Noise, Panic Carefully and The Duel.
