Kit Harington is best known for playing Jon Snow in Game of Thrones — he even tried to get a sequel show off the ground, although that didn't work out, at least for now. But he's also branched out into other areas; he had a memorable turn as a high-powered CEO in the third season of Industry, and not he's added a new feather to his cap: director.

This comes from Prolific North, which reports that Harington both wrote and directed a short film called Psychopomp. There aren't many details about it available, but it's a dark comedy-drama about a troubled young man's final journey and stars the likes of Harry Melling and Ciarán Owens. Here a picture of Harington posing with his cast and crew:

Harington made Psychopomp through Limehouse Films, which was co-founded by Game of Thrones cinematographer Fabian Wagner; that's how Harington heard about it in the first place, so the post-Game of Thrones professional network is still going strong.

“We’re delighted to have played such a huge role in bringing Kit’s vision to life – being a small agency, it really was a full team effort right across the project," said Limehouse managing director Nick Howard. “We’re constantly espousing the power of storytelling to our clients; it’s the very essence of our approach. This project had all the same elements we’re accustomed to on our corporate and internal comms projects, just on a bigger scale. Those elements all exist to support one central goal: bringing the story to life in the best possible way.”

Apparently, Psychopomp has already premiered somewhere; short films doesn't usually get wide releases, obviously, but hopefully it becomes available to watch for the masses at some point. What kind of dark comedy-drama about a troubled young man at the end of his life would Kit Harington write and produce? I'm curious.

Will Harington make writing and directing part of his career going forward? He's been involved on the production side of things before, like when he served as creator and executive producer of the HBO series Gunpowder. Who's to say he couldn't transition into becoming Kit Harinton, major Hollywood director?

In the meantime, Harington still has multiple movies coming out over the next couple years, including The Dreadful, a gothic horror film set during medieval times that also features Sophie Turner, Harington's onscreen half-sister Sansa from Game of Thrones.
