Emilia Clarke's 40th birthday party was a star-studded affair and a mini Game of Thrones reunion.
On Oct. 24, Clarke posted several pics on Instagram from her big bash, which took place on Friday, Oct. 23, in London. The post revealed several major stars of Game of Thrones in attendance, including Kit Harington, Nathalie Emmanuel, Alfie Allen, Indira Varma, and Jacob Anderson.
There were a half dozen other actors, actresses, and performers in attendance, as well, including Sharon Horgan, Sam Reid, Sheila Atim, Stormzy, and more.
You can check out all the pics on Clarke's Instagram. There's a bunch!
I don't know about you, but I always love a good reunion of cast members of my favorite shows. It makes me feel good knowing that people get along behind the scenes of my favorite shows. It's a weird thing about me, but it's like what if The Office cast all hated each other? That's not fun, right? It's the same with the Game of Thrones stars.
It's also just been a while since we've seen this many Game of Thrones stars in one place. Of course, we get little reunions here and there for the series, like we did when Sophie Turner and Harington starred in The Dreadful, but we don't see this many stars of the series in the same room often, unless it's like a big awards show or something.
On top of all that, it's just great to see these stars back together again. Game of Thrones only ended in 2019, but that feels like the world is just so different now than it was then. It feels like a lifetime ago! We already have two new Game of Thrones spinoffs. House of the Dragon is heading into its final season. After all this time, these stars still get together, hang out, and celebrate milestone birthdays? We love it!
From a selfish perspective, it's great to see Clarke and Harington together, especially after how the series came to an end. Even more selfishly, I love that Emmanuel, who played Missandei, and Anderson, who played Grey Worm, showed up for Clarke. That trio shared so many good, impactful, and moving scenes throughout the series.
My last takeaway from all of this is just how much I miss Game of Thrones. I love House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. There have been so many other shows I've enjoyed since Game of Thrones ended, but there was just nothing like this show, and there hasn't been since.
As for what these stars have been up to and what's next, Clarke starred in Peacock's Ponies earlier this year. She has a new romantic comedy film coming next month. Next Life premieres in theaters on Nov. 27, 2026.
As for Harington, he just starred in MGM+'s A Tale of Two Cities, and he joined the cast of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which is the second season of HBO's new Harry Potter series. Jacob Anderson has been starring in AMC's Interview with the Vampire. Alfie Allen just appeared in a new series, Girl Taken, while Indira Varma had a big role in The Night Manager season 2. Last but not least, Nathalie Emmanuel will be back for Fast Forever in 2028.
