Do you know the one show that we've been patiently waiting on forever? Euphoria. The hit HBO drama that took the world by storm when it premiered its first season back in June 2019. At that time, you could pretty much ask anyone if they had watched it, and the answer was almost always a yes.

From the groundbreaking performances, especially Zendaya’s unforgettable turn as Rue, to the show’s raw and honest exploration of youth, addiction, and identity, Euphoria has firmly established itself as a bold and culturally impactful series that continues to connect deeply with audiences around the globe. Now, with its third season on the horizon, anticipation is sky-high.

And adding to the excitement is the recent news that legendary film composer Hans Zimmer is joining the creative team. Known for his iconic scores in blockbuster films like Interstellar and Inception, Zimmer will be collaborating with original Euphoria composer Labrinth to compose the score for the highly anticipated third season. Labrinth is known for composing the music for the first two seasons of the show. With these two musically creative geniuses at the helm, we'd say Euphoria season 3 is in good hands.

Here's what Zimmer had to say about getting to compose the music for the third season via Deadline:

"It’s an honor to join this incredible team of storytellers led by the visionary Sam Levinson. Together, they have crafted such a bold and moving series that has meant so much to audiences. Labrinth’s music has shaped the show’s identity and I’m looking forward to contributing to the ongoing story and helping shape this new season through music.”

Sam Levinson created Euphoria. It's based on the Israeli series of the same name, and revolves around a group of teenagers grappling with issues like addiction, identity, trauma, and relationships as they navigate the highs and lows of adolescence in a raw and unfiltered way. The teen series mainly focuses on troubled teenage girl Rue Bennett, whose battles with substance abuse and mental health serve as the heart of the series, while also delving into the experiences of her friends as they face their own personal struggles.

As mentioned earlier, Zendaya stars in the leading role as Rue. Joining her in the cast for seasons 1 and 2 were Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Colman Domingo, and others.

With season 1 being such a hit, it was a no-brainer for HBO to renew the show for a second season. Season 2 aired from January 2022 to February 2022. Two specials were also released in 2020 and 2021. Unfortunately, there has been a painfully long wait for the eight-part third season due to a combination of production delays, scheduling conflicts, and the impact of the Hollywood strikes.

In February 2025, the cameras finally started rolling on Euphoria season 3. Production is expected to wrap up sometime in September of this year, with a return targeted for 2026. All the cast members listed above are confirmed to reprise their roles except the late Angus Cloud, Ferreira, King, Reid, and Smith. Dominic Fike, Martha Kelly, and Chloe Cherry are set to return as well. New cast members this season are Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, Kadeem Hardison, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, and Sharon Stone.
