Where are all the sci-fi fans? We've got some really good news to share. We didn't think it would actually happen, but Tatiana Maslany’s hit sci-fi series Orphan Black is finally making its way to Netflix. This marks the first time the series will be available to US Netflix subscribers, though it had already been available on Netflix in other countries.
According to What's on Netflix, the complete Orphan Black series will land on the streaming service on Monday, Sept. 1, 2025. You can expect all five seasons to be available at once on this date. Unfortunately, it's unknown what time the show will drop on Netflix. However, there's a good chance the streaming giant will release the seasons at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on the release date. That's when Netflix typically drops new content on its platform.
With licensed content, it's always important for us to mention that a show/movie will only be available for a limited time. Since Netflix doesn't own the rights to Orphan Black, the series could eventually leave the platform once the licensing agreement expires. That's if the streaming giant doesn't strike up another deal to keep the clone-packed sci-fi thriller available for fans to binge even longer.
As of right now, a departure date has not been announced, so fans can plan their marathon sessions without worry. Well, at least for the time being.

What is Orphan Black about?
If it weren't for Graeme Manson and John Fawcett, we would not have this amazing Canadian sci-fi series. They put their brilliant minds and creative vision into Orphan Black, giving fans five incredible seasons that originally aired on BBC America in the US and on Space in Canada from 2013 to 2017.
The show revolves around Sarah Manning, a savvy and resourceful woman who learns she is one of many clones, thrusting her into a perilous world of secret experiments, shadowy organizations, and moral dilemmas, as she struggles to stay safe and protect the people she loves. What was so interesting and great about Orphan Black was watching Tatiana Maslany transform into completely different characters, each with their own quirks, fears, and strengths.
If you've never watched this sci-fi series, now you know. Maslany didn't only play Sarah Manning. She also played many different clones, each so distinct and fully realized that it felt like watching a dozen separate actors. Because of her outstanding performance in this series, she earned herself an Emmy Award as well as a Golden Globe nomination. In my opinion, she should've won multiple times, but I digress.
Joining Maslany in the Orphan Black cast were Dylan Bruce, Jordan Gavaris, Kevin Hanchard, Michael Mando, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Evelyne Brochu, Ari Millen, Kristian Bruun, and others.
AMC aired a spinoff series called Orphan Black: Echoes starring Krysten Ritter in 2024, but it was canceled after only one season. Honestly, we try not to remember that show because it just couldn’t quite live up to the original series.
If you just can't wait for Orphan Black to land on Netflix, the sci-fi show is currently available to stream on AMC+. In fact, it will continue to be available there even after its Netflix debut. This gives you the option to start binge-watching the series immediately without having to wait for the Netflix release.
