The highly anticipated third season of HBO's House of the Dragon has been filming since March, and fans have been eager hanging onto every word shared by the hard-working cast and crew. We just want to know what to expect from the new episodes! Even after season 2 wasn't met with the most overwhelming praise, what with a lackluster finale, that still hasn't taken away our excitement.

It seems as though there are new set leaks every day or week that hint at what's to come in House of the Dragon season 3. Most recently, new set leaks teased were the third season could possibly end and which battles will be taking place. But we're now hearing directly from the source as showrunner Ryan Condal has revealed some promising details about season 3 on his podcast.

In the most recent episode of The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of podcast, Condal shared that he's currently in Surrey where the cast and crew are starting their "next big bank of location work." He stated that production, which is expected to last until October, will remain in Surrey for the next few months. He's juggling two different production units, and it sounds like things are heating up!

While discussing the realities of leading a massive production like House of the Dragon season 3 with his co-host David Mandel (the showrunner of HBO's Emmy Award-winning comedy series Veep for seasons 5-7), Condal praised the production team and said "things have been going really well." That's not all he said, however, as his next tease for the season will surely ignite anticipation.

"We're doing huge stuff out here in the woods and valleys and fields of Surrey," Condal said. "We've built some stuff out here, so I'm really excited."

The new photos and videos from set have detailed some of the "huge stuff" that's been happening in those fields of Surrey, capturing just how extensive the production has gotten while in the thick of things. There are cranes and tents and shacks as the cast and crew reportedly work on filming episode 8, which is expected to be the season 3 finale.

As House of the Dragon season 3 will adapt the Battle of the Gullet and other moments fans have been waiting for within the Dance of the Dragons, diehard fans and online sleuths were able to figure out what's likely being filmed right now. The "huge stuff" Condal teased could very well be the First Battle of Tumbleton, and we can't wait to see every thrilling second!

House of the Dragon season 3 is expected to premiere on HBO and HBO Max sometime in 2026.
