The third season of Invincible, Prime Video's adaptation of Robert Kirkman's expansive superhero comic, wrapped up the other week in rather spectacular fashion. Fans had to wait an eternity between seasons 1 of the 2, but Kirkman and company have promised quicker turnarounds going forward. Posting on X today, they promised that season 4 is coming "sometime in 2026."
No new episode today, so how about an everything we know about Season 4 so far post? pic.twitter.com/0NLQBSoDYo

That means we'll be waiting a year and change at most. That's still longer than we like, but considering that a lot of shows go two years or more between new seasons nowadays, we're happy with it.
As you can see, the team shares that voice acting on the fourth season is already complete. "Thragg has been cast," we are told. In the comics, Thragg is the leader of the Viltrumite empire, and the strongest Viltrumite alive. These guys tear through cities like tissue paper, so that should frighten you.
We don't know who will play Thragg, although the internet has opinions: popular choices include Ron Perlman, who played the title character in the Hellboy movies; or Jon Bernthal, who plays the Punisher in the Daredevil shows. Bernthal also played Shane on The Walking Dead, adapted from another of Robert Kirkman's comics. Given how much Kirkman loves to cast Walking Dead cast members on Invincible — Invincible himself is voiced by Steven Yeun, who played Glenn — I wouldn't be surprised if Bernthal ended up with the role of Thragg. All Kirkman has said on the matter is that Thragg has "been cast and he’s amazing."
The little card above also mentions that season 4 "may" include a new storyline featuring Darkblood, a demon detective character who actually has a couple things in common with Hellboy, to keep things on theme. The last time we saw Darkblood, Cecil was banishing him back to hell in the show's first season. But he showed up unexpectedly at the end of season 3, talking to some kind of senior demon played by Bruce Campbell. Apparently they're planning to attack the surface world.
All will be revealed when Invincible season 4 airs on Prime Video sometime next year! Here are some things to watch in the meantime:
