If there's one thing fans have come to expect from The Boys, it's the creators dialing things up another level every season. From the "Herogasm" episode in season 3 to the Deep's deep-sea love life to that Termite scene, the show always pushes the envelope. As we move into the show's fifth and final season, we can only expect things to get bloodier and more vulgar.

The upcoming fifth and final season, set to premiere sometime in 2026, will undoubtedly pull out all the stops to be the biggest, wildest season yet. But don't take it from me. Star Jack Quaid recently weighed in on the show's final season. Quaid has been heavily involved from the very first scene. If he says it's bigger and better, we believe him.

“A lot more blood. The streak continues, of course. It’s been really cool to play Hughie this season; the events of last season were really hard on him, but he has really grown up," Quaid told Men's Health.

Quaid sees Hughie as a completely different person to who we saw back in season 1. “There’s a maturity to him this season that I don’t think we’ve seen before,” he explained. “He’s truly come into himself, and one of the great joys of working in TV is you get to see a character through many stages of their lives, and it’s been very cool to see Hughie’s arc through.”

At the end of season 4, Hughie and Annie were ambushed and imprisoned by Vought. While Annie managed to escape by using her powers, Hughie remains under Vought capture. Season 5 is all set up to open with a rescue mission!

Will Hughie survive the final season? Well, showrunner Eric Kripke has previously revealed that nothing is off the table. There's no obligations to keep anyone alive anymore. Season 5 premieres in 2026 on Prime Video. In the meantime, we'll see season 2 of spinoff series Gen V on the streamer later this year.

First look at Homelander in The Boys season 5

Filming on season 5 is going full speed ahead. The other day, Antony Starr — Homelander himself — shared a picture of himself from set, above.

I'm sure Homelander will lose the glasses by the time filming starts; I imagine he'd see them as an inexcusable expression of weakness. Expect him to only get crazier as the final season goes on.

There are some other fun photos in there, including a poster of Homelander's son Ryan dress in a miniature Homelander outfit. Seeing it cracked Antony Starr up. How about you?

Euphoria veteran Elizabeth Posey joins The Boys spinoff Vought Rising

In addition to Gen V, Prime Video is working on another spinoff for The Boys. This one is called Vought Rising and will be set in the 1950s, when the company was just getting off the ground. Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash will reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, two of the first supes.

According to Deadline, they will be joined by Elizabeth Posey, who's starred in stuff like Euphoria and Heels. As for the show itself, in the words of producers Eric Kripke and Paul Grellong, it's “a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought."

There's no release date for Vought Rising set yet, but there will be plenty of TV involving The Boys to keep fans entertained in the meantime.
