Jack Quaid would like to stop being naked on The Boys, please
By Ashley Hurst
Jack Quaid's experience on Prime Video's The Boys has been a wild one, to say the least. Each season has somehow managed to up the vulgarity to new levels of disgusting and shocking. At this point, there's not much that Quaid's Hughie hasn't been through. Looking ahead to the fifth and final season, he simply wants to remain clothed; is that too much to ask?
It might seem like a rather easy request, but as we know, the writers of The Boys love to put Hughie in increasingly uncomfortable situations. The vulgarity probably peaked with the now-infamous 'Herogasm' episode in season 3, which quite literally aired with a content warning at the beginning. In the most recent season, there was a scene where Hughie was strapped to a sadistic superhero's table in a way that some thought went too far, even for this show.
I have no doubts that showrunner Eric Kripke and the team have ideas to ramp up the chaos in season 5. This is their last chance to do so, and they'll want to leave no stone unturned. But Jack Quaid wants nothing more than to not have to walk around the set naked again. "Oh, man, I kind of just want nudity to stop. My butt’s had a lot of screen time and it’s not a great one, you know what I mean," the actor said at New York Comic-Con, per People.
He went on to explain that his nudity has, naturally, hindered the viewing experience for his family. I suppose that's merely something you're willing to accept when signing up for a role in The Boys. "Yes, no ... anything involved in my a--, I've just been like, 'Can you just not watch?" he said. Of course, there's one season in particular he refuses to watch his family view. "I mean, season 3, don't watch it. Like no one in my family should watch season 3. My butt's all over that thing."
At least Quaid's family can enjoy him in a much more family-friendly superhero show, My Adventures With Superman, where he doesn't even need to show his face. As for The Boys season 5, we can expect it to premiere sometime in 2026.
