Jason Momoa joins mosh pit at Black Sabbath's final gig

And Ian McKellen shows up on stage on a Scissors Sisters concert, cause why not?

Jason Momoa, star of Game of Thrones, Dune, A Minecraft Movie and much more, hosted the "Back to the Beginning" heavy metal festival this past weekend in Birmingham, England. The festival was a big deal, since it marked the final time that the original members of Black Sabbath — Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler — would appear onstage together. Bands like Metallica, Slayer, Guns N' Roses, Gojira, Alice in Chains, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Mastodon, and Pantera all showed up to honor Black Sabbath.

For a metalhead like Momoa, it was a dream come true. Originally, he just wanted to attend the concert, but then Ozzy's wife Sharon Osbourne reached out and offered him the hosting gig. "I'm over here begging for a ticket and now they want me to host it!" he told Kerrang! "I've never hosted anything before but I've gotta go out in front of all these f**king people and host! And now it's on pay-per-view. Jesus Christ...Ozzy is everything to me. Sabbath is every-f**king-thing, man."

And just in case anyone was doubting his credentials, videos have been going viral of Momoa climbing into the mosh pit and thrashing around with all the other fans. He did it during Pantera's set, climbing over the medium and rocking out like his life depended on it:

You'd think you might be nervous getting into a mosh pit with a bunch of raging metalheads when you're that famous; what if you get swamed? Then again, Momoa is 6'4", built like a tank and clearly loves this stuff, so more power to him.

As long as we're talking about screen icons unexpectedly delighting fans at music festivals, The Lord of the Rings veteran Ian McKellen — Gandalf himself — showed up out of the blue last weekend at the Glastonbury Music Festival to recite his monologue from the Scissor Sisters song "Invisible Light" live:

I think the moral of this story is to just go some music festivals and you'll probably run into a movie star.

Both Momoa and McKellen are still crushing it. Momoa will reprise his role as Duncan Idaho in the upcoming Dune: Part Three while McKellen will return to play X-Men villain Magneto in Avengers: Doomsday.
