Having just seen the thrilling and action-packed trailer for King & Conqueror just two weeks ago, anticipation has been building for this epic historical drama that promises to bring the Battle of Hastings vividly to life. Now, fans in the U.S. can finally rejoice as the series has officially landed a streaming home.
According to Deadline, King & Conqueror will be available to stream on Prime Video in the U.S. and on HBO Max across several international territories. These streaming deals were made possible because Paramount Global finalized multiple agreements with various platforms. Additionally, the historical drama will air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer in the U.K. on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025. Unfortunately, a U.S. Prime Video release date has not been announced yet.

King & Conqueror was created by Michael Robert Johnson (The Frankenstein Chronicles, Sherlock). The story takes place in 11th-century England and focuses on the tense rivalry between Harold, Earl of Wessex, and William, Duke of Normandy, two powerful men whose clash at the famous Battle of Hastings would forever change the course of history. James Norton (House of the Dragon, Black Mirror) takes on the role of Harold Godwinson, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones, New Amsterdam) as William the Conqueror.
The show also stars Emily Beecham (1899) and Clémence Poésy (The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon) as the wives of the two leads. Beecham plays a character named Edith, Harold's wife, while Poésy portrays Matilda, William's wife. Also in the cast are Luther Ford, Ingvar Sigurdsson, Eddie Marsan, Juliet Stevenson, Jean-Marc Barr, Geoff Bell, Elliot Cowan, and many other talented actors.
King & Conqueror is an eight-part series, meaning the story should wrap up at the end of the season. If you know anything about the real events that took place, you likely already have an idea of how this show will possibly come to an end. Without spoiling anything, the historical drama will most likely end with the death of one of the main characters.
We'll get back to you with the Prime Video release date once it is announced. But for now, we recommend watching other historical dramas such as The Gilded Age, Shōgun, The Spanish Princess, Vikings: Valhalla and The Last Kingdom. Or, you could even check out the shows Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon to see Norton and Coster-Waldau in action. All of these shows should hold you over until King & Conqueror's U.S. release.
