Love is in the air! While fans are gearing up to see Liam Hemsworth wield the silver sword as our new Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher, the actor just stepped into an enchanting new chapter of his real life. He’s officially engaged! Hemsworth is set to take over the role of Geralt from Henry Cavill in the upcoming The Witcher season 4, which is rumored to hit Netflix sometime in October of this year.
The news of his engagement was announced in the early hours of Friday, Sept. 12. His fiancée, model Gabriella Brooks, confirmed the happy news on Instagram with a trio of photos, including a black-and-white shot of the couple embracing and a close-up of her sparkling diamond ring. The post, simply captioned with a white heart emoji, sent fans into a frenzy. Not only did it confirm the swirling rumors of an engagement, but it also gave the world a sweet glimpse into the couple’s private romance.
Rumors of Hemsworth and Brooks being engaged started swirling last month, after Brooks was spotted sporting a diamond ring on that finger during a stroll in Ibiza, Spain. Now, with the Instagram confirmation, the speculation is officially over. These two are gearing up for their happily-ever-after!
Rumors of them being an item first started circulating in December 2019, after the couple was spotted together at a casual brunch in Byron Bay, Australia, with Hemsworth's parents. Then, in June 2021, they went Instagram official when Liam shared a photo of the two of them at the Gold Dinner 2021 in Sydney, alongside his brother Chris Hemsworth, Chris’s wife Elsa Pataky, and Matt Damon’s wife Luciana Barroso, confirming to fans that their romance was real.
Over the years, the now-engaged couple has kept their relationship relatively private, occasionally sharing glimpses of their life together on social media and making rare public appearances. While it's unknown when they will officially tie the knot, fans are already swooning over the engagement photos and eagerly awaiting any hints about wedding plans. That's if they even choose to make the big day public, as the couple has shown a preference for keeping their romance low-key and intimate.
While Brooks has never been married, this will be Hemsworth’s second marriage. He first began dating singer and actress Miley Cyrus in 2009 while filming the romance movie The Last Song. After a long on-and-off relationship, the pair got engaged in June 2012. They eventually tied the knot in December 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee, but the marriage was brief, with their divorce finalized in January 2020. Brooks, on the other hand, was previously in a four-year relationship with The 1975's Matty Healy.
