This past Sunday was May the Fourth, aka Star Wars Day. Fans everywhere celebrated the legendary sci-fi franchise, sometimes in really weird ways. Heritage Auctions kept things more traditional with an auction featuring items drawn from the vast history of the storied franchise.

Some items went for high prices, including:

  • A helmet worn by lead character Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) went for $137,500, the biggest ticket item of the event.
  • A rare action figure of Boba Fett with improper coloring sold for $40,000 (the coloring makes it inaccurate but also rare, hence the high price)
  • Concept poster art of C-3PO and R2-D2 from 1978 sold for $33,750.

So some Star Wars fans rang in the holiday with very expensive new toys. May the Force by with them.

Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff) will return to Star Wars

As for the Star Wars universe onscreen, it's rolling merrily along. The second and final season of Star Wars: Andor is blowing fans' socks off around the galaxy, and Lucasfilm has announced a bunch of new movies and shows in the works, including a new show from Lost creator Carlton Cuse and a movie called Star Wars: Starfighter; that one will star Ryan Gosling in the lead role. There might even be a movie about Rey from the Star Wars sequel trilogy in the offing.

But those projects are early in development. The next Star Wars movie anyone will actually see is The Mandalorian & Grogu, which will pick up the story of the Mandalorian and Grogu from The Mandalorian. Think of it as a fourth season of the TV show, but built for the big screen.

Of course, the cast of The Mandalorian has grown over the years. We're not sure who will show up in the movie, but it sounds like Bo-Katan Kryze, the current ruler of Mandalore, could make an appearance, or at least that's what actor Katee Sackhoff seems to be hinting. "You will see her again in some form," she told ScreenRant. "That's all you need to know. Dave Filoni cannot get rid of me, because Bo Katan is based off of his wife, so I've got some job security."

Dave Filoni is the top creative mind behind the current Star Wars universe, the George Lucas replacement, if you will. If he wants Bo-Katan to be part of The Mandalorian movie, she will be. As for whether there will be more show after that or if the movie will mark the end of this journey, things remain up in the air.

The Mandalorian & Grogu is scheduled to come out in theaters on May 22, 2026.
