After myriad delays, Netflix's The Sandman season 2 finally wrapped filming earlier this year. With the show now in post-production, we're very close to seeing Dream (Tom Sturridge) and the rest of the Endless return to our screens for more ethereal stories in the saga.

One character everyone can't wait to see return is Desire, played by Mason Alexander Park. Desire is casually cruel and destructive. In season 1, Desire constantly meddles with Dream's affairs. Fans really took to the character, and everyone can't wait to see what's in store with them for season 2.

Currently, we know that season 2 will most likely be the show's final season. It'll cover the Season of Mists and Brief Lives story arcs, as well as various one-shot stories from the comic by Neil Gaiman. Leaks from filming suggest that the show also covers the comic's endgame volume, The Kindly Ones. With a reported 12 episodes, that's a hell of a lot of content to fit into one season.

In a recent interview with WhatsOnStage, Park expressed that it's "greatest gift in the world" to star in a show like The Sandman. They also went on to praise their co-star: “Tom Sturridge, who plays Dream on the show, is one of the most brilliant actors that I have ever had an opportunity to play opposite."

When we spoke to Park back in 2022, they discussed a key moment from the comic that they can't wait to see play out onscreen. "I’m really looking forward to many moments in the comics, but seeing the family together for the first time in 'Season of Mists' is super exciting to me," Mason teased. "There’s something very Succession about the whole thing, and who doesn’t want to be the person making all the fuss at a dinner party!"

During Geeked Week this year, a teaser took fans behind the scenes of season 2 briefly showed off the iconic family dinner scene. Take a look:

On November 29, The Sandman celebrates its birthday, marking 37 years of the beloved comic book. On the comic's birthday in 2022, Netflix released our first look at season 1 of the TV show. Might we get our first glimpse at the new batch of episodes on the 29th? We sure hope so!
