Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk rarely meet in Daredevil: Born Again

Believe it or not, both Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk have directly crossed paths only a few times in Daredevil, and Born Again will continue the trend.

Daredevil: Born Again is one of the most exciting Marvel TV shows to come along in a while. The rebooted series will introduce Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock as a fully-fledged MCU hero. Up to now, he's only made a couple of appearances within the wider continuity. For instance, he played Peter Parker's lawyer in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and more recently appeared in the animated series Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man.

Helmed by Dario Scardapane (who previously worked as an executive producer on The Punisher), Born Again brings the old team back together. Deborah Ann Woll is back as Karen Page, Elden Henson returns as Foggy Nelson, and of course, Vincent D'Onofrio reprises his role as the Kingpin himself, Wilson Fisk.

Most of the teasers for Born Again have shown Murdock locking horns with Fisk. It looks to be the driving force of the season. Watch this scene of them talking it out in a diner:

While it might seem on the surface that the entire season will be Daredevil vs. Kingpin, Vincent D'Onofrio insists that the show keeps them both at arms length. The palpable tension isn't quite the same if they're constantly in the same room.

"You can't put us together in the same scene a lot, because it's not as powerful if you do that," D'Onofrio said at a press conference, per GamesRadar. "And it's so good when you do. It's good for us, the actors, because we just like doing scenes together, but it's great for the story because it always means something. It's always either the beginning of something or the end of something, or both. It's intense."

Additionally, Charlie Cox praised the idea of bringing the two central characters together at the start. Previous seasons of Daredevil let their tension simmer over the course of a season until it finally boils over. "Something that we haven't done before, and huge credit to Dario [Scardapane, showrunner] and the producers who came up with this idea, but bringing us together early on in this new season is something we haven't done before, and putting them in a position where they are having to trust one another's ability to stay true to who they say they are," he said. "It just lends itself to a slightly different dynamic for a scene."

I'm sure the scenes between Murdock and Fisk will be outstanding. The scenes we've seen so far look terrific!

The Punisher is getting his own Marvel special

Jon Bernthal first appeared as the vengeance-minded antihero The Punisher in the original Daredevil series before getting his own show, which ran for two seasons. He'll be back for Daredevil: Born Again. And beyond that, Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum revealed that Bernthal is writing a Punisher special with director Reinaldo Marcus Green.

"It's like a shotgun blast of a story, but also has all the pathos and emotion that you want out of a Frank Castle story," Winderbaum said, per Entertainment Weekly. "It's so exciting."

"Bernthal is a generational actor. He's incredible what he brings to all the roles he plays, but particularly Frank Castle. And he's a great writer. He knows the character inside and out.... Also, I love Punisher, but I love Jon's Punisher in particular. The idea that he's in the MCU and can bring that to the greater universe, especially the more grounded street-level stuff, is a huge opportunity and, as a fan, the greatest thing ever."

For Daredevil fans, there's a lot to look forward to.
