A new season of The White Lotus began this weekend on HBO! Like the first two seasons, we meet a whole new set of characters in a White Lotus resort, this time in Thailand. And like the first two seasons, we know that at least one of these characters is going to die before the end.
But which one? It could be Valentin, a Russian wellness expert who has a great upper body and some flirty banter with Laurie (Carrie Coon), Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan) and Kate (Leslie Bibb). The White Lotus was popular in its first season and hugely popular in its second. If the trend continues, the third season could be the biggest yet, with actors like Arnas Fedaravičius, who plays Valentin, getting a major bump.
If you're a fan of Netflix's medieval historical fiction show The Last Kingdom, you may have recognized Fedaravičius. He played Sihtric, a Dane who was introduced in the second season of the show. Althoug he was nominally opposed to the Saxon-born Uhtred of Bebbanburg (Alexander Dreymon), Sithric switched sides and swore his loyalty to Uhtred, thereafter becoming one of his most trusted advisors. Sihtric in every season of The Last Kingdom from there on out, and was also in the concluding movie, Seven Kings Must Die.
Fedaravičius has stood out in pretty much whatever show he appears in, both because he's a good actor and because — let's be honest — he's a good-looking guy. His profile was already decently high beforehand and The White Lotus can only help, especially if this new season is as entertaining and buzzworthy as the last two.
In The White Lotus, we learn that Valentin moved to Thailand before Russian dictator Vladimir Putin invading the neighboring country of Ukraine, and now he can't go home to Russia. In the real world, Arnas Fedaravičius is actually from the country of Lithuania, not Russia. Lithuania was actually part of the Soviet Union for 50 years, but gained independence in 1991.
New episodes of The White Lotus season 3 drop Sunday nights on HBO and Max. And if you want to see any of Fedaravičius' work on The Last Kingdom, all five seasons plus the movie are streaming on Netflix:
