Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, an open world Game of Thrones video game that lets players wander the Seven Kingdoms at will, is now available to download on all mobile platforms. You can also get it on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and Windows Launcher. The game is out as of now in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East. Launch timing for Asia will be revealed later this year. Watch the launch trailer above!

In many ways, Kingsroad is the most impressive and robust Game of Thrones video game yet produced. It's open world, meaning players can explore the Seven Kingdoms from the wilds beyond the Wall all the way south to Highgarden in the Reach. You'll play out an original story set during the fourth season of the show, when Tommen Baratheon rules in King's Landing, Daenerys Targaryen is settling down in Meereen and wildlings are marching on the wall. You'll interact with characters from the series as well as engage in combat against both monsters and men. The graphics are impressive for a game designed for mobile devices, and there's a multiplayer mode where you and your friends can take on dragons and other beasties.

All this sounds pretty good. The caveats are that: A) The game is designed for mobile devices, whereas I think a lot of Game of Thrones fans are looking for a properly big AAA console adventure, and; B) Kingsroad has microtransactions, which is typical of mobile games. Players may feelnickel and dimed while they play, which isn't exactly the feeling you want when you're setting off on a grand adventure.

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is a new video game based on House of the Dragon

All that said, it does look like Netmarble put a lot of effort into this game, and I hope the fans who are interested will enjoy themselves. And if you're not, there are other options. Warner Bros. is also working on Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, a strategy game that's based on the HBO prequel series House of the Dragon. Watch the trailer for that one below:

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire models itself after the 2017 mobile game Game of Thrones: Conquest, where players managed funds, crops, minerals, troops and as they mounted a war to take over Westeros. You also make deals as you expand your influence. Battles take place over a tiled map. The difference here is that it all takes place during the Dance of the Dragons, with characters (and dragons) from that show playing a role.

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire has already soft launched in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, where it's available on the Google Play Store, according to Pocket Gamer. Once again, this is a mobile title.
